Your life is only as good as the processes that you've put in place to manage all the things on your plate. Life hacking is the way to optimize and leverage what you're working with. By now, you've made it through lesson 1 of module 3 and you should have a clear game plan on how you can hack your motivation to get sh!t done!
Here's my hack: I know I work best late at night. My sweet spot for getting work done is from 9pm to 2am. I wake up a little bit later in the morning (between 9am and 10am) to take care of homeschool, household chores, errands, appointments, and meetings. I find that portioning up my time into 30 minute blocks with a little reward every 3-4 hours to keep me going on the days that are project heavy. High energy music, singing, and dancing all get me in a mood to knock it out of the park.
But that's just me! So let me know below - what are your key takeaways from this lesson and how have you learned to hack your motivation?
I remind myself I have bills to pay. HAHAHA. Kidding aside, thank you for this timely sharing, Coach Yvonne. I needed to be reminded of my motivations these days, not because of the absence of it, but because I needed more motivation to help me cope with all my repsonsibilities at hand. I have to figure things out again, my updated rhythms, now that I have several new factors to consider. :)
I usually have no problem waking up in the early mornings to get started on whatever I need to work on. For me, it feels better to know that my tasks have been completed as the day goes along. By lunch time or early afternoon I have usually put a dent in the to do list usually for work/school. This also allows me to look forward to a more creative afternoon/evening to focus on things that I am more passionate about.
I found this exercise very helpful! It was good to hear that people don't stay motivated all of the time. I was feeling it was just me. My best work time is between 5 AM - 10 AM. I am such a morning person. After a nice sleep, my brain is recharged and I don't find it hard to get things done. I do need a "no distraction" place to work. Listening to classical music or just the sounds of nature really gets my brain flowing. Thanks for putting this exercise together!
